PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Avue, LLC (the Applicant) has applied to the City of Cape May Planning Board seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval to demolish the existing motel on the Site and to construct a new hotel with fifty-three (53) hotel rooms, comprised of fifty (50) one-bedroom units and three (3) two-bedroom units, for a total of fifty-six (56) bedrooms; a 162-seat restaurant; a 37-seat bar area on the first floor; an indoor pool on the third floor; a 41-seat bar area on the third floor near the pool; and other associated site amenities and improvements (the Application). The property is located at 6 Second Avenue, Cape May, New Jersey, 08204 and is further identified as Block 1012, Lot 15.01 on the official Tax Map for the City of Cape May (the Site). The hotel amenities will be limited to hotel guests only. The Application requests the following variance in connection with the Application: 1.From Cape May City Code 525-49.C(2) and C(4) to permit a total of sixty (65) parking spaces, including two (2) ADA compliant parking spaces, when one-hundred thirty-five (135) parking spaces are required. No other variances have been identified at this time. However, the Applicant requests any and all variances and waivers which may be required as a result of the review and recommendations of the Board or its professional review staff. This matter will be heard at the regular meeting of the City of Cape May Planning Board scheduled for April 8, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Cape May City Hall Auditorium, which is located at 643 Washington Street, Cape May, New Jersey 08204.
